 listen to this page

Reproductive abuse is when someone stops you from making your own choices about whether or not to have a baby.

Examples of reproductive abuse:

  • A person (often a partner or an older family member) may pressure you into continuing with an unwanted pregnancy or may force you to get an abortion.
  • A person may also interfere with your choices around contraception which may be considered part of reproductive abuse.
