Social abuse is a pattern of behaviour that, over a period of time,  isolates you from your family, friends and community.

Examples of social abuse:


  • They won't let you see family
  • They say they hate your friends
  • They feel jealous or angry when you spend time with friends
  • They constantly check on where you are going
  • They go through your phone
  • They regularly read your social media or text messages
